SIQUIJOR PROVINCE TRAVEL GUIDE FOR THE GRADUAL RE-OPENING OF TOURISM TO LOCAL AND FOREIGN TOURISTS BY JANUARY 2021

TOURISTS ALLOWED TO TRAVEL TO SIQUIJOR?

Local tourists with negative RT-PCR Test who come from MGCQ or under New Normal Provinces or Cities.

Foreign tourists from COVID 19 low risk countries as recognized by WHO with  negative RT-PCR Test.  

These local and foreign tourists shall be 15 to 65 years old  with no co-morbidities and symptoms of COVID – 19 such as fever, colds and flu; pregnant women are not allowed.

PRIOR TO TRAVEL…

  1. Tourists shall:

  •  Explore and arrange visit with DOT-accredited tour and travel agents

  • Explore available DOT-accredited accommodation issued with a Certificate of Authority to Operate

  • Explore itinerary and other services offered in Siquijor

  • Learn health and safety protocols and guidelines for tourists visiting Siquijor

  1. They shall be tested with RT-PCR or Swab Test at their place of origin which must be conducted not earlier than 72 hours (3days) prior to travelling  and shall observe strict quarantine after the test and before travel. 

  2. Register and create a Trek Siquijor  account at siquijorprovince.gov.ph  website and prepare to upload a jpg or pdf copy of the following:

  • Passport for foreigners, Government issued ID for locals and school ID for students

  • Contact Number and Email -add

  • Current photo

 

  1. With their Trek Siquijor account, schedule a visit and fill-out the electronic Tourist Health Declaration Form and  prepare to upload a jpg or pdf copy of the following: 

  • Confirmed itinerary of travel issued by an accredited tour/travel agent

to include itinerary in Siquijor

  • Receipt of accommodation booking

  • Negative RT PCR Test Certificate  issued by an accredited hospital or testing laboratory which is valid within 72 hours from testing

  • Medical Certificate that he or she is assymptomatic of COVID 19

  1. Wait for an email confirmation, and save or print  QR-coded Tourist Pass (QTP). Tourist are required to  QTP, electronic or printed, for easy reference at the borders, at tourism establishments, tourism assistance center and tourism sites. NO QTP/ NO ENTRY IN SIQUIJOR. 

Note: When entering Siquijor, Travel Authority from PNP or IATF acceptance or coordination permit   will no longer be needed since the QTP will serve as their passport.

DURING TRAVEL…

  1. Wearing of face mask and face shield and strict observance of social distancing and other health protocols is a must throughout the whole travel to Siquijor and vice versa.

  2. Since Siquijor has no direct international flight, foreign tourists have to make a stopover in major cities in the country such as Manila, Cebu, Dumaguete  or Tagbilaran. RT-PCR Test is valid within 72 hours so that if they intend to stay in these places and go beyond 72 hours then they need to have another negative RT PCR Test in the above places before proceeding to Siquijor.  

  3. Tourists shall travel in such a way that they have minimal or no contact with LSIs or APORs since they don’t have negative RT PCR Test and are subject to quarantine requirements.

  4. At the port of entry they shall present their QTP to the stationed tourism officer for verification and shall undergo Rapid Antigen Test. 

-when tested negative they shall proceed to their booked accommodation for their 2 days  mandatory quarantine and after two days or 48 hours they shall undergo another Rapid Antigen Test and when test negative shall then be allowed to travel around Siquijor

-when tested positive they will also be brought to their booked accommodation hotel for isolation and for RT PCR Confirmatory Test and possible treatment  at their own expense. When RT-PCR test is negative they will be allowed to travel around Siquijor. When tests positive shall remain at their booked accommodation for treatment and 14 days quarantine.

DURING GUIDED TOUR…

  1. Follow itinerary of travel in Siquijor which shall be assisted by an accredited tour guide of the province.  Approved itinerary shall be strictly followed, any modification must be consulted to the tour operator which shall be approved by the Provincial Tourism Office a day before proceeding to a revised itinerary. Digital check-in/out using QTP shall be done in all sites or establishments visited.

  2. Always bring QTP and present to authorities whenever needed, do not leave them to the checkpoint officers, treat them like your passport with a visa. 

DURING RE-ENTRY BACK TO HOMETOWN OR COUNTRY…

  1. Tourists through their QTPs shall be allowed exit from Siquijor as long as they are free from COVID -19 and are asymptomatic.

  2. Protocols of home LGUs or countries shall be followed which may include triaging, testing or mandated quarantine
